Somewhere near Bartlow in Essex:
Saturday 14th June. Walk into Essex, around 20 miles, seven hours or so, to test new canvas boots. Beautiful skies, but still sunny enough to get sunburn and no more than half a dozen drops of rain.
Boots were very good indeed, no blisters, but I need the next size up. Does anyone want to buy a pair of once used, Israeli-made, size Euro 44 sand-coloured canvas boots in near-perfect condition? £10 to Oxfam, e-mail iang@pobox.com
